A SHORT OPINION ON ADOPTING SHELTER DOGS

THE PIT BULL HATERS CLUB WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO BELIEVE THAT SHELTERS, ADVOCATES, SUPPORTERS ETC. PUSH PIT BULL BREEDS OFF ON UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE IN SEARCH OF A NEW FAMILY MEMBER BY NOT DISCLOSING THAT IT IS A CERTAIN TYPE OF BREED OR THAT IT IS MIXED WITH A CERTAIN TYPE OF BREED.  WELL MY THOUGHTS ON THAT SUBJECT ARE THIS.

YOU CAN CHOOSE TO ADOPT A SHELTER DOG OR NOT. THAT IS YOUR CHOICE.  BUT IF YOU DO CHOOSE TO DO SO, DO YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST.  KNOW WHAT BREED YOU ARE WANTING TO ADD TO YOUR FAMILY.  IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TRAIN AND HANDLE NOT ONLY THE DOG, BUT YOUR CHILDREN.

IF YOU ACTUALLY LET SOMEONE TALK YOU INTO A DOG THAT YOU DON'T REALLY WANT, THAN YOU DON'T HAVE THE BRAINS TO OWN A DOG PERIOD.  FACE IT, IF YOU LET A PERSON TALK YOU INTO A DOG THAT YOU DON'T WANT AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE, YOU HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF.

AND IF YOU TAKE THAT DOG HOME TO YOUR FAMILY AND YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH IT AND SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU, YOUR CHILD, YOUR NEIGHBOR, AGAIN...YOU HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF.

WHEN YOU GO INTO A SHELTER TO FIND A DOG, AND YOU DON'T WANT A BULLY BREED, THEN EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THEM AND GET A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT TYPE OF DOG FALLS INTO THAT CATEGORY AND DO NOT GET ONE!  PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!   AND IF SOMEONE TRIES TO TALK YOU INTO A DOG YOU DON'T WANT, HAVE A PAIR BIG ENOUGH TO STAND UP AND SAY NO!!

SO YES,  IT ALL FALLS BACK ON OWNERS OF DOGS.  REMEMBER ANY DOG CAN BITE, ANY DOG CAN ATTACK AND IF YOU LET SOMEONE TRY TO TELL YOU THEY DON'T....WELL GUESS WHOSE FAULT THAT IS?

PEOPLE FOR UN-ETHICAL TREATMENT OF PIT BULLS

So once again the Pit Bull Haters Club believe they have done something special to promote their agenda.  Actually, all I have managed to see is a bunch of the same old stuff shuffled around in new memes and pages trying to get people to believe their lies and outrageous stats.

In an attempt to out do the supporters of Pit Bulls in promoting not only a month of awareness and education of the breed and dedicating the day of October 24th as National Pit Bull Awareness Day, the haters of dogsbite.org, daxton's friends, and what they claim to be 50 other Pit Bull attack victims groups, Including PETA, have set up the exact same day for Pit Bull Victims Awareness Day.

Well, I have looked over press releases, Facebook Pages, Web Pages, and I can tell you that the partners and friends (with the exception of PETA) are all groups affiliated with dogsbite.org and/or Daxton's Friends, so I really do not know who they are trying to kid.

I have also noticed that all promotions of this event have also been by Dogsbites. One of their promos had listed at the bottom of the page the following:

So, one would think that they paid for an advertisement by a company who does not even check to see if any of it is true or not. Which brings me to more questions.......  

WHY HAS NOT PETA PROMOTED THIS EVENT?  WHERE ARE ALL THERE ADVERTISEMENTS?  WHEN DID THEY BECOME A PIT BULL ATTACK VICTIMS GROUP?  I THOUGHT THEY WERE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS???

OK...OK..IN ALL FAIRNESS PETA DID ISSUE THIS STATEMENT:

COALITION THAT WOULD HELP, NOT HURT, PIT BULLS HUH?  A COALITION THAT DOESN'T BLAME THE DOGS HUH?  HMMMM.....PEOPLE LIKE GARY YOUNG AND ELTON CAMP?

PEOPLE LIKE MARY ANN REDFERN?

PEOPLE LIKE BRUCE ARMSTRONG?

OR PEOPLE LIKE ONE OF THE HEAD ORGANIZERS OF THIS EVENT JEFF BORCHARDT AKA MIX MASTER BOGART.

AND WE CAN'T FORGET THIS ONE.....

AND HOW ABOUT A FEW MORE OF THOSE SUPPORTERS, FRIENDS, AND PARTNERS:

JUST MY OPINION, BUT I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS BEING ETHICAL TO ANIMALS AND NOT WANTING TO HARM OR HURT THE PITS.

JUST AN INNOCENT GAME? I THINK NOT!

MOST OF YOU HAVE HEARD OF DAXTON'S FRIENDS. FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T, IT'S AN ORGANIZATION STARTED BY AN INDIVIDUAL THAT LOST HIS SON TO A DOG ATTACK. IT IS QUITE TRAGIC AND I REALLY FEEL FOR THE MANS LOSS, BUT I BELIEVE HE REALLY NEEDS SOME KIND OF PROFESSIONAL HELP TO DEAL WITH HIS PAIN AND ANGER BEFORE IT REALLY GETS HIM INTO TROUBLE.

FOR INSTANCE, DURING A GROUP CONVERSATION, HE TRADED WORDS WITH A FEMALE WHOM WAS REPORTEDLY AN UNDERAGE GIRL. THEY WERE DISCUSSING PIT BULL DOG PROS AND CONS WHEN HE MADE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT.

NOW MIND YOU, HE CLAIMS HE HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS AN UNDER AGED GIRL AND HE DID SPOUT OFF THIS SOME WHAT OF AN APOLOGY.

 BUT DO YOU NOTICE THIS IS TO HIS FELLOW GROUPIES AND NOT TO THE PERSON THAT HE SAID IT TOO?  HOW HEARTFELT. NOT!!

AND OF COURSE IF YOU MENTION IT TO HIS FELLOW GROUPIES, THEY WILL COME TO HIS DEFENSE.

SHAMEFUL?  LIBEL??  HERO??     MY MY......LET US CONTINUE SHALL WE???

 REALLY, HOW VERY INTERESTING THAT YOU JUST ADMITTED THERE WAS A CONVERSATION TAKING PLACE THAT WAS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR AN UNDER AGED FEMALE TO BE ENGAGED IN.  AND YOU CLAIM IT WAS ALL IN FUN AND GAMES?  SINCE WHEN IS SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONVERSATION FUN AND GAMES WHEN IT COMES TO CHILDREN?  THAT'S PLAIN SICK!!!   BUT THEN YOU SAY....

AGAIN YOU ADMIT TO HAVING AN EXPLICIT CONVERSATION WITH A CHILD THAT WAS NOT APPROPRIATE.  AND YET STILL TRYING TO WORM YOUR WAY AROUND THE ISSUE.

 NOW YOU CHANGE THE STORY AND SAY THAT IT WAS A FULL GROWN WOMAN THAT A CULT OF PEOPLE MADE A RUMOR OF BEING A CHILD...REALLY?   AND YOU SAY THAT IT WAS GROWN UPS IN THE GROUP AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH COMMENTING TO A GROWN WOMAN IN THE MANNER IN WHICH HE DID?  I BEG TO DIFFER.  IT IS NOT ONLY NOT APPROPRIATE, IT'S DISGUSTING,  IT'S PERVERTED, AND JUST PLAIN SICK NOT ONLY FOR A MAN TO DISPLAY THIS TYPE OF ACTION OR CONVERSATION, BUT SOMEONE WHO IS THE HEAD OF A SO CALLED REPUTABLE ORGANIZATION TO CARRY ON THIS WAY IS APPALLING AND HE NEEDS TO GET A GRIP AND SO DO HIS FOLLOWERS IF THEY BELIEVE THIS IS ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR.  YOU ALL ARE REALLY DEEPLY DISTURBED.

Scapegoating part 2: The Seven Stages of Hate Groups

Now many have likened the three described in part one to a cult, I find this somewhat inaccurate. While many are religious, Hatred of a breed of animal is not a religion, They are instead a Hate Group, Like all hate groups, they are subject to the seven stages of hate. Which I will go into further depth as to how it applies here.

Stage one: The haters Gather.
As this is an INTERNET hate group, the gathering started small, a website here or there, but has ballooned, there are now almost as many groups and pages out there hating these innocent dogs as there seem to be legitimate members of the groups. (There is quite a lot of evidence that many of the more violent members have multiple accounts.)

Stage two: The hate group defines itself.
The most unfortunate thing, is this hate group tried to define itself as a Victims advocacy, Adopting a ribbon that if you are not paying attention, looks similar to the POW/MIA ribbons. They looked for every dog attack in the news, trying to call the animal a Pit Bull when it wasn't. They once called a Spanish Mastiff a Pit Bull, For those who do not know breed nicknames, a Spanish Mastiff is also known as a Great Dane.

Stage Three: The hate group disparages the target.
This still goes on. Every day in their little groups they talk about how much they hate Pit Bulls, thinking it is private they feel perfectly free to use the words Hate and Kill.

Stage four: The hate group Taunts the target
This also happens every day, They go on Pit Bull advocacy groups, Rescue groups, and news articles about good dogs and attack them for being Pit Bulls. They also stalk the bite news, trying to bully the victims into joining their group.

Stage Five: attacking the target without weapons.
This one is harder to prove, as the nature of their hate is fear based. They FEAR the Pit Bull. Instead, I would point out how often they talk of ways to stop attacking dogs (Rare occurrences that they themselves admit has not happened more than once to them.) One goes around the internet telling every dog owner, responsible or not, to carry a Dangerous for both parties item called a break stick in case their Perceived Pit Bull attacks. Trust me, the LAST thing you want to do if a Dog attacks is get your hands into their mouths.

Stage six : Attacking the Target WITH weapons.
Every time a Pit Bull suffers an untimely and painful death They celebrate it. They deny any inclusion publicly, but privately brag about know they will kill/have killed the dogs. Fortunately for court proceedings they forget about the privacy settings on their little groups, and this bragging ends up public knowledge. God only knows what goes on in their one secret group, Lets hope they get judged for it.

Stage seven: The hate group destroys the target
Most will publicly admit this is their end game. Two of the leaders mentioned in the first part have publicly stated that they will not rest until every Dog that can possibly be called a Pit Bull are dead. Many of their underlings parrot this statement, often taking a “Kill them all!” Stance against a dog that millions go every day without hurting a flea. The only reason they lead the bad bite statistics is that there ARE so many of them. If there were millions of Great Danes or Poodles, those breeds would lead the bite statistics. The more there are of a dog, The more likely bad owners will get them. This group of people refuse to acknowledge the real culprit, The owner of the dogs.

Unlike how these people think, a dog lives in the now. Pit Bulls Do not know they were bred for bad things, They only know how they are treated. If they are treated badly, they will act badly, But if they are treated right, like Millions of bully types are today, they can be the sweetest, most loyal animals you have ever met.

Scapegoating Part One: The Ringleaders are introduced

I need to start with this statement, I am not a professional anything. That said, I researched this article heavily. This article does not presume to try to convince those on the fence about Breed Specific Legislation which direction they should go, instead, it is to explain to those who are already against it why it exists in the first place, and why the major proponents of it strive so strongly for it.

I would like to start with the origin stories of two of the strongest proponents, and a breakdown of what happened.

Colleen Lynn seems to have started with impolite jogging, but there is evidence she hated long before that. One day, I do not remember how long ago, a dog walker and her large dog went for a walk, innocently sniffing about, when a Jogger pops up from behind them, without announcing herself, and going between the dog and the fence, startling him into a bite response. One or two quick bites, and the jogger fell down, breaking her arm. I have seen pictures of the injuries, the bite holes were far too clean to have dragged her down, all the stitches are in a very straight line, from the surgery to mend the bone. This Jogger had the dog put down for the minor injuries and broken bone, but it didn't end there.

Miss Lynn went on to start a website, Dogsbite.org. A site that searches the internet for every injury they can POSSIBLY blame on a “pit bull type” (Which to these people encompasses dozens of breeds, many of which do not even have TERRIER in them). These injuries include completely unrelated events, such as getting hit by a frying pan; getting shot; getting bitten by ANOTHER dog at the park, while having a dog they would call a pit bull at home; getting rescued by your own pit bull from an attacker, both human and Canine; and one poor child who was unsupervised and took his pet for a walk and then got hit by a train. Hardly seems a credible source to me.

The second person we will be talking about is Jeff Borchardt. Borchardt, and his friend and baby sitter Susan Iwicki, both have multiple counts of drug use and alcohol abuse. Despite this, Borchardt left his 18 month old with Miss Iwicki, giving her explicit instructions not to expose the boy to her two at the time classified as BOXER MIXES, who were unsocialized and over-crated. Of course, the already proven irresponsible Iwicki did not follow his instructions, carrying the child with her when she let the dogs out. The over excited dogs thought the boy was a toy, pulling him from her arms, 15 minutes later Miss Iwicki was found by the police, screaming into a phone, uninjured, the boy dead and alone in a back room on the cold wood floor, no seeming effort to rescue the boy. Despite the fault clearly being on Iwicki, Borchardt does not blame her, he blames the dogs, who were magically reclassified into pit bulls after the attack. Borchardt spreads his blame to anyone who owns a pit bull, save one person, the one person actually responsible for this child's death.

When Miss Lynn heard of Borchardt's child's death, she decided to help him make his own site, Daxtonsfriends.org I would not follow that link it tends to give me virus alerts. Daxtonsfriends is a site that is closely related to dogsbite, putting out false information about what a pit bull is (Again, dozens of non-terrier breeds) and illogical information on how to prevent dog bites that has nothing to do with preventing actual dog bites. Again, this site is rife with misinformation and hatred for pit bulls.

There is a third website, run by a Merritt Clifton, who I know little about, What I do know is this, He claims to be an animal expert, but has little to no experience with actual animals, and no education. Animals24/7 is a site rife with illogical numbers, most often quoted by the two previous sites, but he will never give you a source beyond google, and his numbers make no sense when compared to numbers by more reputable organizations like the ASPCA and the American Veterinary Medical Association. These three sites, used alone, as most anti-pit bull advocates seem to do, would give you the impression that all pit bull types are out to kill you. Until you look at other sites at least.

Together these three command a small battalion of loyal fighters, wielding the weapons of tired copy paste, falsified data, Stalking, Cyber-bullying, Death threats, and Animal abuse. Spreading as much hate and fear as they possibly can. The next chapter will tell us why.

AND THEY WILL TRY TO MAKE EVERYONE BELIEVE THAT PIT BULL OWNERS ARE A TYPE OF CULT, THAT WE WORSHIP THIS BREED, AND ARE CRAZY PEOPLE AND THEY CALL US NUTTERS.   BUT WHO IS REALLY THE CRAZY ONES?......AGAIN LETS LOOK SHALL WE?????

UH...YEAH.  GOT SOME REAL STABLE PEOPLE THERE.  PRAY THEY DON'T REPRODUCE.

SO I ASK YOU (AND FEEL FREE TO COMMENT BELOW) WHO ARE THE REAL ANIMALS?

FAKE STEVEN SEAGAL PAGE PROMOTES OUTRAGE! COULD DOGSBITE BE INVOLVED?

Aw.... So the itty bitty anti-pitty committee, not to be confused with the itty bitty titty committee (although I'm sure they have their fair share of boobs in the group), decided to post a fake autograph session with Steven Seagal at a Houston PetSmart and claim they were (with the help of the local Humane Society) euthanizing violent breeds.....ie, Pit bulls.  ( See what I mean about boobs?).

I mean seriously folks.  Do they think they can take on a big name such as Petsmart, not to mention a world renown actor and animal activist such as Steven Seagal, and not suffer any recourse of action.

And as if defaming their names are not enough, I'm sure one would be seriously looked into for copyright infringement on Steven's movies.

Sounds like this time dogsbite have bitten off a little more then they can chew.

Fans are already blasting the page from everywhere.  Stevens fans know what type of man he is and they are NOT going to let this go.

Yes sir, grab your popcorn and grab the best seat in the house and get ready for the movie of the decade!!!

5 Heartwarming Stories That Prove Dog Is Man's Best Friend

We've all heard the phrase: Dog is man's best friend. But just how far will your furry friends go to show how much they care? We have rounded up some of the most tear-jerking stories of loyalty and friendship, as dogs around the world go above and beyond to demonstrate their love for their human companions.

1. Lost Dog Saves a Life

Yolanda Sevogia's neighbor, Stacey Savige, knocked on her door one morning asking if she could keep an eye on a lost terrier she found roaming around the local elementary school. Yolanda agreed to watch the dog, but told Stacey it would only be for the day. The two women took photos of the dog and printed off 4,000 FOUND fliers, stuffed them in mailboxes and also placed an ad on Craigslist.

In the meantime, Yolanda went to the dollar store and bought some pet supplies, warning her two sons not to fall in love with the dog. At the time Yolanda's son Azaiah was 10 years old, and Christian was 21 years old. Christian has Down syndrome and an assortment of other ailments, and had recently undergone heart and kidney surgeries.

Four days later Yolanda was still looking after the dog, who they had started to call RaeLee (pronounced Riley). When she arrived home from work, the dog flung himself against the screen door and barked madly at her. As soon as she opened the door, RaeLee sprinted into the boys' room where Yolanda found Christian in the middle of a violent seizure. RaeLee ran over to Christian, but as soon as Yolanda bent over to help him the dog went silent.

"If he hadn't come to get me, the neurologist said Christian would have choked on his own blood and died," Yolanda reported to the Tampa Bay Times. At this point, no one had called to claim the dog so Yolanda decided to keep him.

The next morning Stacey got a call; a man named Randy recognized his lost dog and called the number on the flier. Stacey started crying, and told him, "That dog saved my friend's son."

Randy drove to Yolanda's house to pick up his dog, and saw Azaiah crying on the porch and Christian in the window. After a few moments Randy said, "Maybe Odie was supposed to find you, maybe you should keep him."

2. Dog Mourns at Casket of Navy SEAL

This photo yanked at the heart-strings of millions of Americans in August 2011, as images of a grieving labrador retriever graced the pages of newspapers across the country. At the funeral of Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson, attendees could see his faithful companion Hawkeye lying by the casket. In front of 1,500 mourners at the beginning of the service, Hawkeye ambled up to the front of the room and laid down next to his master — showing his loyalty until the end.

3. US Marine Surprises His Beagle Dog

When this marine returned from deployment, he came home to one of the most excited dogs we've ever seen. Check out this adorable video to see just how happy Buddy was to see his daddy.

4. Dog Stays by His Master's Grave For Six Years

The bond between dog and master goes beyond the grave, as evidenced by Capitán's unyielding loyalty to his master Miguel Guzmán, from Argentina. Capitán went missing for a few days, but he was eventually found lying in the cemetery next to Guzmán's resting place.

The remarkable part about this story is that Miguel died in a hospital, and his body was taken to a funeral home far away from where he lived. Capitán had never been to the cemetery before.

The first time the funeral director saw Capitán, he arrived at the cemetery alone. The dog did a few laps through the tombstones before finding his master's grave — all on his own. Capitán continues to visit his old master every single day, at 6:00 p.m., like clockwork.

If this isn't a display of true dedication, we don't know what is.

5. Adopted Dog Saves Infant Child

This adopted dog proved his worth, and then some. One night Duke woke up his owners by shaking uncontrollably on their bed, trying to get their attention. Their nine-week-old infant Hazel wasn't breathing in the other room, and without his intervention they never would have noticed.
